Millbrae Logo Design

Every new Millbrae venture realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely grasp the pivotal role their logo will take in their success, or exactly why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long-term effect on the growth of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Millbrae companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Millbrae coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older part of the town and hoped to cast a nostalgic tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by designing a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and germs made for Millbrae clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family fun facility in Millbrae.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Millbrae traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Millbrae logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Millbrae logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo realize how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Millbrae publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most vital part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the items consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Millbrae logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Case includes an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Millbrae, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that almost every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that carried a feeling of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious course of designing just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is usually the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo style created for an equine ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created an original custom logo concept styled to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. With an identifiable head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable equine types in the world.

Logo style for a software application designer the layout attributes and also famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Millbrae business logo dsign along with an illustration which grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

Logo design made for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
