Mira Mesa Logo Design

Each and every new Mira Mesa business understands that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely understand the key role their logo design will make in their success, or why one business logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Mira Mesa companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Mira Mesa coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old section of the city and wished to cast a nostalgic vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by means of creating a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and germs created for Mira Mesa medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun facility in Mira Mesa.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Mira Mesa traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mira Mesa logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Mira Mesa logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of challenges, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Mira Mesa book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many occurrences one of the items folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Mira Mesa logo layout utilized for advertising and a label style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Mira Mesa, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it appears that each and every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that related a sense of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of making just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software application designer the layout attributes as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Mira Mesa logo design dsign along with an illustration that grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really developed for an Mira Mesa area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this logo was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to produce a image that projects confidence, financial success, and affluence.
Logo made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
