Morgan Hill, California Logo Design

Every new Morgan Hill company realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely understand the key role their organization’s logo will play in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design works far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the growth of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Morgan Hill, California companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Morgan Hill, California coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an old part of the community and hoped to cast a nostalgic tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by means of designing a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Morgan Hill, California medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping green frog designed for a household fun center in Morgan Hill, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Morgan Hill, California travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather project emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Morgan Hill logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Morgan Hill logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial assessments on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Morgan Hill, California book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Morgan Hill logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag design for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Morgan Hill, California, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it seems that every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which communicated a spirit of tranquility and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout attributes and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Morgan Hill business logo dsign along with an illustration which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t actually developed for an Morgan Hill, California regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce a brand mark that projects confidence, financial success, and wealth.

Morgan Hill Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for ostensibly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
