Newport Beach Logo Design

Nearly every new Newport Beach venture realizes that they need a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the essential role their business logo will play in their becoming successful, or why one logo works better than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Newport Beach companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Newport Beach coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older part of the area and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both jobs via designing a trademark concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Newport Beach medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog made for a household enjoyable center in Newport Beach.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Newport Beach travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Newport Beach logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Newport Beach logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of difficulties, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Newport Beach publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems that in many occurrences one of the aspects people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Newport Beach logo design made use of for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Newport Beach, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which carried a sense of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software designer the style functions and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Newport Beach logo design dsign utilizing an illustration which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Newport Beach regional farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this logo was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to design a brand mark that projects trust, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to create a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
