Oildale Logo Design

Every new Oildale business knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners fully understand the pivotal role their logo will play in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo works better than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Oildale companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Oildale coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old part of the city and wanted to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by developing a symbol concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Oildale clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family fun facility in Oildale.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Oildale travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Oildale logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Oildale logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest point of views on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo recognize how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s allotment of obstacles, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Oildale book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a published book because it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the traits consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Oildale logo style utilized for advertising and also a label style for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Oildale, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which projected a feeling of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is oftentimes the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo design for a software program developer the style attributes and also renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Develop logo style produced for a Oildale indoor developer, design function a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Oildale business logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Oildale regional farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to create a brand mark that projected assurance, success, and wealth.
Logo designed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is similar to a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
