Ontario, California Logo Design

Every new Ontario business realizes that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely understand the vital role their logo design can make in their success, or precisely why one logo design performs far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term influence on the viability of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Ontario, California companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be enduring and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Ontario, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an old section of the city and wanted to cast a retro tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by creating a sign concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Ontario, California medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog made for a family members fun center in Ontario, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Ontario, California traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ontario logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Ontario logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get honest viewpoints on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how important a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Ontario, California book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is often the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences one of the aspects folks often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was surely a success.

Ontario logo style used for marketing and a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Ontario, California, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it seems that almost every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which conveyed a feeling of ease and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo style for a software program designer the style features and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Ontario logo design dsign utilizing an illustration that grabs the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Ontario, California regional farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to develop an identity that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.

Ontario Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for ostensibly dealing with arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo designed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is similar to a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
