Orangevale, California Logo Design

Each and every new Orangevale company knows they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully grasp the crucial role their organization’s logo can take in their success, or why one logo design functions better than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining influence on the financial success of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Orangevale, California companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bike created for a Orangevale, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older part of town and wished to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by means of creating a company logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs developed for Orangevale, California medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family fun center in Orangevale, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Orangevale, California traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Orangevale logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Orangevale logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective point of views on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design job has it’s share of challenges, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Orangevale, California publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a published book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Orangevale logo style utilized for marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation features an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Orangevale, California, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it appears that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which projected a sense of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo design for a software application developer the design attributes and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Orangevale logo design dsign along with a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design developed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
