Orcutt, California Logo Design

Each and every new Orcutt business knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly realize the pivotal role their business logo will perform in their success, or precisely why one logo design functions far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the viability of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Orcutt, California businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.
Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Orcutt, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older part of the area and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by developing a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Orcutt, California clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a household fun facility in Orcutt, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Orcutt, California traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Orcutt logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Orcutt logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design recognize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Orcutt, California publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Orcutt logo design used for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Case features an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Orcutt, California, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which projected an atmosphere of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the style attributes and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Orcutt logo design dsign utilizing an image which pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really produced for an Orcutt, California regional farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this creative logo was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a image that projected self-confidence, financial success, and affluence.

Orcutt Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style feature for externally encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
