Orinda Logo Design

Each and every new Orinda venture realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely comprehend the crucial role their organization logo will perform in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo works far better than another. A logo has a critical and long-term influence on the prosperity of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Orinda businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Orinda coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older section of the area and really wanted to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via designing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Orinda clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog made for a family members enjoyable center in Orinda.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Orinda travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Orinda logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Orinda logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo understand how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Orinda book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many cases 1 of the things consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Orinda logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case features an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Orinda, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which carried a sense of peace and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo layout a small restaurant, style consists of a changed script font style which hovers over a group of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the design features as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Evolve logo layout developed for a Orinda interior designer, design attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the center of the logo style.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the characters for letter V and A in center of words progressed have been modified to tie directly into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Orinda logo design job was done for a leadership specialist that assists business leaders to become more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Orinda logo dsign along with an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an Orinda regional farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this trademark was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to design an identity that projects self-confidence, financial success, and luxury.
Logo developed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
