Pacifica Logo Design

Every new Pacifica organization knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly recognize the key role their logo design can play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo has an instant and long-term effect on the financial success of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Pacifica businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Pacifica coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an older section of the area and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by means of designing a sign concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Pacifica medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a family members fun facility in Pacifica.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Pacifica traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Pacifica logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Pacifica logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of obstacles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Pacifica book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a published book because it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many instances 1 of the things people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was certainly a victory.

Pacifica logo design made use of for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Pacifica, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design which carried a spirit of tranquility and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Las Cafe logo layout a little dining establishment, layout contains a customized manuscript font which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design features as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Advance logo style developed for a Pacifica indoor developer, layout feature a series of red circles that intersect as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

logo style done for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V and A in center of words advanced have been customized to connect straight into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Pacifica logo design assignment was undertaken for a management advisor that enables business leaders to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell off their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Pacifica logo dsign utilizing an illustration which grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really composed for an Pacifica area farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this company logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce a graphic that projects confidence, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo design designed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
