Palm Springs, California Logo Design

Each and every new Palm Springs business knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the essential role their company logo can perform in their financial success, or why one business logo performs better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long-term influence on the prosperity of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Palm Springs, California companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Palm Springs, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old section of the area and wished to cast a retro vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by means of designing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs developed for Palm Springs, California medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a leaping green frog made for a family fun facility in Palm Springs, California.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Palm Springs, California traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Palm Springs logo but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Palm Springs logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo understand how important a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of challenges, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Palm Springs, California book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a published book because it is usually the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems like that in many occurrences one of the things individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Palm Springs logo style used for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Palm Springs, California, design include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it seems that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually enjoy doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that related an atmosphere of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but rather designed a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the design attributes and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Palm Springs business logo dsign using a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Palm Springs, California regional farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this particular company logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to make a image that projected trust, success, and affluence.

Palm Springs Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout function for outwardly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo designed for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
