Pico Rivera, California Logo Design

Each and every new Pico Rivera venture knows they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely grasp the pivotal role their company logo will play in their becoming successful, or why one logo works far better than another. A logo design has an instant and long term influence on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Pico Rivera, California companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Pico Rivera, California coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an older part of the area and really wanted to project a nostalgic tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by means of creating a sign concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Pico Rivera, California medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog designed for a family members fun facility in Pico Rivera, California.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Pico Rivera, California traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Pico Rivera logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Pico Rivera logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s share of obstacles, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Pico Rivera, California publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many cases one of the aspects consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Pico Rivera logo design utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Pico Rivera, California, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that each and every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which related a feeling of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo design developed for a horse ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software developer the style functions as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Pico Rivera logo dsign using an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really created for an Pico Rivera, California regional farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to make a graphic that projected self-confidence, success, and opulence.

Pico Rivera Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo designed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is similar to a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to design a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
