STRATEGIES ON FINDING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design company offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but in the end a design agency can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio does not contain real world samples odds are they won’t be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to reflect your personal vision for your company. If a designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Pomona LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs develop notable brands. We’ve done brand design work for ranchers, schools, heart surgeons, party planners, diners, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business you can think of. What makes ImageCo different compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as though it will be employed as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our brand identity designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique ensures that our logos are equally reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or web apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might possibly have found in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are hired to perform, we perform in-house. No matter the type of project we take on, logo, web page, trade show exhibit, or electric sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s work to 3rd parties based outside the US. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that increases the price of your design project and imposes the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Pomona business understands that they need a logo, but few start ups thoroughly comprehend the essential role their organization’s logo will perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design performs far better than another. A company logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the viability of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Pomona companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to retail signs a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the process of noting something so that it can be identified, its foundation originates from the mark burned onto animals. Today a brand signifies pretty much anything with a motive, regardless if it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are both from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s goal is to develop an image that the audience will likely relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and identity design. When a person states the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people buy those brands. Brand image is why individuals purchase specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the origin of many branding companies you’ll discover that they are often rebranded marketing and advertising agencies. When a person says they are in marketing the majority of people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when a person claims “I am in branding”… it just sounds much more attractive, maybe it’s due to the fact that most people do not know what it means to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and perhaps even attractive.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual components of a product or agency that influence view points. This largely includes the name, the logo, the product packaging, the colors used however can likewise include audio, lights, texture, signage, really anything that can be seen, touched or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a type of visual design that helps shape the perception of a company, a product or a company. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, and collateral material such as cards, stationery, and brochures. Some identity designers also design web sites as well as user interfaces. The essential duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of influencing activities, outcomes as well as assumptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Pomona coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old section of the city and really wanted to project a retro vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by designing a logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Pomona clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the clinical assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog made for a family enjoyable center in Pomona.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Pomona traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Pomona logo but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Pomona logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of obstacles, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Pomona book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a printed book because it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems like that in many cases one of the items consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Pomona logo layout made use of for advertising as well as a label design for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Pomona, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that almost every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a Pomona hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that communicated a sense of ease and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of making merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the importance on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian equine logo style developed for a horse ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind creative logo design tailored to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having a different head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Pomona Coffee shop logo design a small dining establishment, layout consists of a modified manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little restaurant, style includes a changed manuscript typeface which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo design for a software program programmer the style features and famous Pomona aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Develop logo style produced for a Pomonainterior designer, design attribute a collection of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Pomona interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who arranges, investigates, coordinates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, research, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Pomona, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of the word advanced have been customized to link directly right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Pomona logo design assignment was done for a management advisor that helps business professionals to become more effective at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Pomona business logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Pomona logo design with an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Pomona company logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Pomona regional farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this creative logo was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to develop a brand mark that projects confidence, effectiveness, and wealth.

Pomona Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for externally encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a popular Pomona sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
