Rancho Palos Verdes Logo Design

Every new Rancho Palos Verdes business knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the essential role their logo will play in their becoming successful, or why one business logo performs far better than another. A logo has a critical and long-term influence on the success of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Rancho Palos Verdes companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Rancho Palos Verdes coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an older part of town and really wanted to visualize an old-fashioned feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks via designing a logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria created for Rancho Palos Verdes medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Rancho Palos Verdes travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rancho Palos Verdes logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Rancho Palos Verdes logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo understand how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Rancho Palos Verdes publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most vital part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the initial thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the items people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Rancho Palos Verdes logo layout used for advertising and marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Rancho Palos Verdes, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which related an atmosphere of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software program developer the style attributes as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Rancho Palos Verdes logo dsign using a graphic which pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really composed for an Rancho Palos Verdes area farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this logo design was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to generate a image that projects assurance, financial success, and affluence.
Logo design created for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
