Rancho Santa Margarita Logo Design

Virtually every new Rancho Santa Margarita business understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the pivotal role their business logo can play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term effect on the prosperity of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Rancho Santa Margarita companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Rancho Santa Margarita coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older part of the area and wished to cast a vintage feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by developing a symbol concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and germs designed for Rancho Santa Margarita clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family fun facility in Rancho Santa Margarita.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Rancho Santa Margarita travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather project emotional journeys through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rancho Santa Margarita logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Rancho Santa Margarita logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Rancho Santa Margarita publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many instances one of the items people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was surely a success.

Rancho Santa Margarita logo layout made use of for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Rancho Santa Margarita, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which conveyed a sense of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software programmer the style functions and also famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Rancho Santa Margarita business logo dsign using an image that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Rancho Santa Margarita regional farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to make an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo design made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is evocative a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the business owner to create a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
