Rancho Santa Margarita, California Logo Design

Every new Rancho Santa Margarita business person knows they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely grasp the vital role their organization’s logo can perform in their financial success, or why one logo design works far better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the viability of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Rancho Santa Margarita, California businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Rancho Santa Margarita, California coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older section of the city and really wanted to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both tasks by creating a trademark concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Rancho Santa Margarita, California medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Rancho Santa Margarita, California travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rancho Santa Margarita logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Rancho Santa Margarita logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their business logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s portion of obstacles, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Rancho Santa Margarita, California book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a published book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems that in many instances one of the items consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Rancho Santa Margarita logo design used for marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance features an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that carried an atmosphere of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but instead created a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout features and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Rancho Santa Margarita business logo dsign using an image which grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Rancho Santa Margarita, California regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design made for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to design a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
