Richmond, California Logo Design

Each and every new Richmond business realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the key role their business logo can perform in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo works far better than another. A logo has an immediate and long term impact on the success of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Richmond, California companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Richmond, California coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an old section of town and really wanted to project a retro tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both tasks by means of developing a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria created for Richmond, California clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping green frog designed for a household fun center in Richmond, California.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Richmond, California travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Richmond logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Richmond logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Richmond, California publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems like that in many occurrences one of the aspects individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to confering a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Richmond logo layout used for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Richmond, California, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really really love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which projected a spirit of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a steed ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct brand concept fashioned to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. By having an identifiable head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable equine lineages in the whole world.

Las Coffee shop logo design a small restaurant, layout consists of a customized manuscript typeface which floats over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the style functions as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Richmond business logo dsign using an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually designed for an Richmond, California area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to develop a graphic that projected esteem, financial success, and opulence.

Richmond Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo designed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to design a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
