Rocklin, California Logo Design

Nearly every new Rocklin business professional knows they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners fully recognize the key role their logo will take in their financial success, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining impact on the growth of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Rocklin, California businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.
Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Rocklin, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an old section of the community and really wanted to project a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by means of developing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Rocklin, California medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members fun center in Rocklin, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Rocklin, California travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rocklin logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Rocklin logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo realize how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s share of challenges, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Rocklin, California publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many cases one of the traits consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Rocklin logo style used for advertising as well as a label layout for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Rocklin, California, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that related a spirit of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout attributes and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Rocklin logo design dsign utilizing a graphic that pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually developed for an Rocklin, California area farm it was in reality devised for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design a graphic that projected confidence, financial success, and prosperity.

Rocklin Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for ostensibly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo design designed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is similar to a renowned sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
