STRATEGIES FOR FINDING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not reimburse the amount of time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain actual samples chances are they will never be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to mirror your personal vision for your company. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they will get paid.

San Fernando LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping small business owners establish notable brands. We have undertaken branding work for mechanics, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, bistros, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business you can envision. What makes ImageCo unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as though it will be used as an electric sign. Because of our sign first technique our identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered regardless of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might possibly have found in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are brought on board to do, we do ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of project we take on, business logo, business website, trade show display, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s work to 3rd parties based outside the United States. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the cost of your design project and imposes the conditions of how you and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new San Fernando entrepreneur knows they require a logo, but few start-ups fully recognize the crucial role their logo design will make in their success, or exactly why one logo works far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long term impact on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help San Fernando companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the process of marking something to make sure that it can be identified, its genesis originates from the brand burned onto animals. These days a brand symbolizes virtually anything with an intention, regardless if it be earnings or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are each from the very same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition aimed at a target audience, it’s goal is to create an image that the audience will likely connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody mentions the names Lamborghini or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people want those products. Brand image is why people identify with most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of the majority of branding agencies you’ll find that they are quite often rebranded advertising and marketing agencies. When a person claims they are in marketing the majority of people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a type of visual design which helps shape the public image of a business, a product or a company. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral products such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some identity designers also develop sites and also software interfaces. The necessary function of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and a psychological tone with the goal of influencing actions, end results and assumptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a San Fernando coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an older part of the community and wanted to project an old-fashioned tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two tasks via creating a company logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for San Fernando clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable center in San Fernando.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for San Fernando traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  San Fernando logo but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

San Fernando logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of challenges, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for San Fernando publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a printed book since it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the things individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of flight and it was surely a success.

San Fernando logo style made use of for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Instance includes an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in San Fernando, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a San Fernando hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that projected a feeling of ease and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is oftentimes the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo design produced for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique creative logo concept fashioned to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With a different head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable horse breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A San Fernando restaurant logo style a little dining establishment, layout includes a changed script font which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little dining establishment, layout contains a changed script typeface which hovers above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software programmer the layout attributes as well as iconic San Fernando aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Develop logo layout developed for a San Fernandoindoor developer, style attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a San Fernando interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, researches, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a diverse profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, site inspections, programming, analysis, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in San Fernando, the characters for letter V and A in center of words progressed have actually been modified to connect straight right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular San Fernando logo design assignment was done for a leadership specialist that enables business professionals to develop into more successful at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A San Fernando business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell off their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their San Fernando business logo design with an illustration that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this San Fernando company logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really composed for an San Fernando regional farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to generate an identity that projects confidence, success, and prosperity.

San Fernando Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for ostensibly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design made for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a famous San Fernando sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to design a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
