San Juan Capistrano Logo Design

Virtually every new San Juan Capistrano business knows they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely understand the essential role their logo will take in their becoming successful, or why one logo design works better than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting effect on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help San Juan Capistrano companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a San Juan Capistrano coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older section of town and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned tone without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by developing a trademark concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and germs created for San Juan Capistrano medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a household fun facility in San Juan Capistrano.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for San Juan Capistrano traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  San Juan Capistrano logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

San Juan Capistrano logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of challenges, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for San Juan Capistrano publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a printed book because it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many instances 1 of the items individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

San Juan Capistrano logo layout utilized for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in San Juan Capistrano, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that almost every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that projected a spirit of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software program designer the style attributes and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their San Juan Capistrano logo dsign along with an image that grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually produced for an San Juan Capistrano regional farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to design a image that projects self-assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo design created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is similar to a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the owner to create a logo design which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
