Santee, California Logo Design

Each and every new Santee venture realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly comprehend the pivotal role their organization logo can make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works better than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term impact on the financial success of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Santee, California companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Santee, California coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an older section of the community and really wanted to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks via developing a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria developed for Santee, California clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Santee, California.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Santee, California travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Santee logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Santee logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s allotment of hurdles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Santee, California publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many cases one of the things consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Santee logo layout utilized for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Case features an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Santee, California, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it appears that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that conveyed an atmosphere of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design developed for an equine ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a small restaurant, design consists of a changed script font which floats above a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout functions as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the characters for letter V and A in middle of words progressed have actually been modified to connect straight right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Santee logo dsign using an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually designed for an Santee, California regional farm it was in reality devised for a products broker, and this particular company was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and opulence.

Santee Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo designed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo design that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
