Selma, California Logo Design

Each and every new Selma organization understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely realize the essential role their company logo will perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo performs better than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the success of a company, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Selma, California companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be realized in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Selma, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an older part of the town and wished to visualize a vintage feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by creating a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Selma, California clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog made for a family members fun facility in Selma, California.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Selma, California traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Selma logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Selma logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased point of views on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Selma, California book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most necessary part of a published book because it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits individuals usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to confering a spirit of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Selma logo design used for advertising and also a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Selma, California, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really really love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that conveyed a spirit of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo design that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the importance on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Las Coffee shop logo style a small dining establishment, layout includes a changed manuscript typeface which floats over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software programmer the style functions as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Selma business logo dsign with a graphic which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Selma, California area farm it was actually designed for a products broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to develop a graphic that projected assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Selma Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for ostensibly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo created for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
