Simi Valley Logo Design

Each and every new Simi Valley venture understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the essential role their company logo will take in their becoming successful, or why one business logo works better than another. A business logo has an instant and long-term impact on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Simi Valley businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Simi Valley coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an old part of town and really wanted to project a nostalgic vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by creating a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria developed for Simi Valley medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a household enjoyable facility in Simi Valley.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Simi Valley travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Simi Valley logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Simi Valley logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design comprehend how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Simi Valley publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is often the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems that in many cases 1 of the things consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was surely a winner.

Simi Valley logo layout used for advertising and also a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Simi Valley, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that communicated a spirit of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making just a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application developer the layout attributes and also renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Simi Valley business logo dsign with an illustration which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really produced for an Simi Valley area farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this particular logo was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to create a image that projects confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design created for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
