Sunnyvale, California Logo Design

Nearly every new Sunnyvale business professional realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners fully recognize the essential role their business logo will perform in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design performs more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and lasting influence on the financial success of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Sunnyvale, California businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to movie screens a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.
Retro logo style of a bike created for a Sunnyvale, California coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an old section of the community and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via designing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Sunnyvale, California clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo design with a leaping green frog designed for a family fun facility in Sunnyvale, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Sunnyvale, California travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sunnyvale logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Sunnyvale logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how important a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Sunnyvale, California book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a printed book because it is often the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Sunnyvale logo layout made use of for advertising and a tag style for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Sunnyvale, California, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that each and every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which carried an atmosphere of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout attributes and renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Sunnyvale business logo dsign with a graphic that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

Sunnyvale Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo designed for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is similar to a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
