Sunnyvale Logo Design

Virtually every new Sunnyvale venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the crucial role their company logo can make in their success, or precisely why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Sunnyvale businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Sunnyvale coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old section of the town and wished to cast a retro tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by developing a logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Sunnyvale medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog developed for a family members fun facility in Sunnyvale.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Sunnyvale traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sunnyvale logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Sunnyvale logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how important a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Sunnyvale publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a printed book since it is usually the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the items people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Sunnyvale logo style made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Sunnyvale, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it seems that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that conveyed a sense of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application developer the style attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

This particular Sunnyvale logo design job was performed for a management guide that enables business professionals to become more efficient at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Sunnyvale logo dsign utilizing an illustration that pulls in the attention of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually designed for an Sunnyvale regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to generate a graphic that projected trust, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo design made for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is similar to a renowned sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
