Truckee Logo Design

Nearly every new Truckee venture realizes that they need a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly recognize the vital role their logo can play in their financial success, or exactly why one logo works far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long term effect on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Truckee businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Truckee coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older part of the city and really wanted to cast a nostalgic vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by designing a sign concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs created for Truckee medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Truckee.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - created for Truckee travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Truckee logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Truckee logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo recognize how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of obstacles, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Truckee book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the things consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Truckee logo style made use of for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Truckee, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that projected a sense of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious course of designing simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the design features and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

Evolve logo style created for a Truckee interior developer, layout feature a collection of red circles that intersect as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Truckee logo design dsign utilizing a graphic which seizes the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually created for an Truckee area farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this company was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to create a image that projected trust, success, and opulence.
Logo created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
