Twentynine Palms Logo Design

Every new Twentynine Palms organization realizes that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the vital role their business logo can perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Twentynine Palms companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Twentynine Palms coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old part of the community and really wanted to visualize an old-fashioned tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks by creating a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and germs designed for Twentynine Palms medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the clinical assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recollect where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog created for a family members fun center in Twentynine Palms.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Twentynine Palms traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Twentynine Palms logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Twentynine Palms logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest point of views on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Twentynine Palms publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Twentynine Palms logo design utilized for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case features an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Twentynine Palms, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that related a spirit of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo design which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the design attributes and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Twentynine Palms logo design dsign along with a graphic that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually produced for an Twentynine Palms regional farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to produce a brand mark that projects assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo created for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
