Union City, California Logo Design

Each and every new Union City business knows they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully comprehend the crucial role their company logo can play in their financial success, or why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting impact on the financial success of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Union City, California companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Union City, California coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an older part of the city and wished to project a vintage atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by developing a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Union City, California medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable center in Union City, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Union City, California travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Union City logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Union City logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s share of challenges, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Union City, California publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most critical part of a printed book because it is often the primary thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Union City logo style utilized for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance features an archaic typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Union City, California, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which conveyed a feeling of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of creating just a stylized orchid but instead created a logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the attention on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application designer the design attributes and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Union City logo dsign utilizing a graphic which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Union City, California regional farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design a graphic that projects self-confidence, success, and luxury.

Union City Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for externally dealing with arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to design a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
