Valley Glen, California Logo Design

Nearly every new Valley Glen organization knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners fully comprehend the key role their logo will take in their success, or precisely why one logo design works better than another. A logo design has an instant and lasting impact on the prosperity of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Valley Glen, California businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be lasting and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.
Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Valley Glen, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old part of the area and hoped to project a retro atmosphere without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by means of designing a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Valley Glen, California medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the clinical examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping green frog designed for a household fun center in Valley Glen, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Valley Glen, California travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Valley Glen logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Valley Glen logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo recognize how important a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Valley Glen, California publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Valley Glen logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Valley Glen, California, style include an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that conveyed a sense of relaxation and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application designer the design functions as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Valley Glen business logo dsign along with an image that pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really composed for an Valley Glen, California regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to design an identity that projects confidence, financial success, and wealth.

Valley Glen Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
