Visitacion Valley Logo Design

Each and every new Visitacion Valley venture knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners fully comprehend the pivotal role their logo design will make in their success, or exactly why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term effect on the prosperity of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Visitacion Valley companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Visitacion Valley coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an old section of the town and really wanted to project a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs via creating a custom logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Visitacion Valley medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping green frog designed for a family fun center in Visitacion Valley.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Visitacion Valley travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Visitacion Valley logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Visitacion Valley logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Visitacion Valley publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most important part of a published book since it is usually the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many instances 1 of the traits consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was definitely a success.

Visitacion Valley logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Visitacion Valley, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that related a feeling of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the style features and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Visitacion Valley logo dsign using an illustration that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually produced for an Visitacion Valley regional farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Logo design created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
