Vista Logo Design

Nearly every new Vista business knows they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully recognize the key role their business logo can make in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Vista businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Vista coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an old part of town and wished to visualize a retro feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by means of developing a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs created for Vista clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog made for a family fun center in Vista.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Vista traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Vista logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Vista logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo realize how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Vista book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most important part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many instances one of the aspects folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was surely a success.

Vista logo style made use of for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Vista, style include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which communicated a spirit of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo design for a software designer the style functions as well as legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Develop logo style developed for a Vista interior designer, design function a series of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Vista logo design dsign utilizing an illustration which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really developed for an Vista area farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to generate a brand mark that projected esteem, success, and affluence.
Logo design designed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
