Westminster, California Logo Design

Virtually every new Westminster organization realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly recognize the vital role their logo can play in their success, or precisely why one logo design works far better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting impact on the success of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Westminster, California businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be realized in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Westminster, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older part of the community and hoped to visualize a retro atmosphere without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks via creating a trademark concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs developed for Westminster, California clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Westminster, California.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Westminster, California travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Westminster logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Westminster logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo recognize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s share of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Westminster, California publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is often the first thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many instances 1 of the things people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was definitely a success.

Westminster logo design utilized for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Westminster, California, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that each and every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that communicated a feeling of serenity and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a company logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo design for a software program designer the style functions and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to market their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Westminster logo dsign with an image which grabs the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually produced for an Westminster, California area farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this logo design was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to produce a brand mark that projects confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.

Westminster Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for externally encountering arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo made for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
