Woodland Logo Design

Virtually every new Woodland venture knows they need a logo, but few new business owners fully comprehend the key role their organization logo can play in their becoming successful, or why one logo performs far better than another. A logo design has a critical and lasting effect on the success of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Woodland businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Woodland coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an older part of the city and hoped to project a nostalgic feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by creating a business logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for Woodland clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog developed for a family enjoyable facility in Woodland.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Woodland travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Woodland logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Woodland logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how important a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of challenges, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Woodland publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the things folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was surely a winner.

Woodland logo design used for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Woodland, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it seems that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that communicated a spirit of serenity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program designer the style functions and renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Woodland business logo dsign along with an image that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really designed for an Woodland regional farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to develop a brand mark that projects self-confidence, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is evocative a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
