Yorba Linda, California Logo Design

Nearly every new Yorba Linda business professional knows they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully recognize the key role their business logo can make in their success, or precisely why one logo performs far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term influence on the success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Yorba Linda, California businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to movie screens a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Yorba Linda, California coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old section of the city and really wanted to project a retro feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs via developing a sign design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Yorba Linda, California clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family fun center in Yorba Linda, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Yorba Linda, California travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Yorba Linda logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Yorba Linda logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Yorba Linda, California publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a printed book since it is often the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many occurrences one of the items people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of flight and it was definitely a victory.

Yorba Linda logo style used for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Situation features an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Yorba Linda, California, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it appears that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that projected a spirit of peace and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is generally the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo layout for a software application designer the design attributes and legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Yorba Linda logo dsign with a graphic which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually produced for an Yorba Linda, California area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design an identity that projects assurance, success, and affluence.

Yorba Linda Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style feature for externally encountering arrow and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design made for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
