Ajax, Canada Logo Design

Virtually every new Ajax business knows they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the crucial role their organization’s logo can take in their financial success, or why one logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term effect on the success of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Ajax, Canada companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Ajax, Canada coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older part of the town and really wanted to project a vintage atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by means of designing a trademark concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Ajax, Canada clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Ajax, Canada.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Ajax, Canada traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ajax logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Ajax logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Ajax, Canada book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it looks like that in many instances one of the items consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Ajax logo layout made use of for advertising as well as a label layout for Vintage Situation includes an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Ajax, Canada, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which communicated a sense of tranquility and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious path of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a business logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo layout developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a little restaurant, design contains a changed script typeface which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout features as well as legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

Progress logo style produced for a Ajax, Canada interior designer, layout feature a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the characters for letter V and A in center of the word progressed have actually been modified to link straight right into words below.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell off their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Ajax business logo dsign along with an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really produced for an Ajax, Canada area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to generate a graphic that projected confidence, success, and wealth.

Ajax Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly facing arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
