Windsor, Canada Logo Design

Every new Windsor company understands that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully comprehend the crucial role their organization’s logo can make in their success, or precisely why one business logo works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Windsor, Canada businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.
Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Windsor, Canada coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an old part of the city and wanted to visualize a nostalgic tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks by developing a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Windsor, Canada medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog designed for a family members fun center in Windsor, Canada.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Windsor, Canada travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Windsor logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Windsor logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo understand how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Windsor, Canada book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems that in many instances one of the items individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was surely a victory.

Windsor logo style utilized for advertising and a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Windsor, Canada, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that carried an atmosphere of ease and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of making merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software programmer the design attributes and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell off their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Windsor logo design dsign along with an image that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really developed for an Windsor, Canada regional farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate a graphic that projected trust, financial success, and wealth.

Windsor Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style function for outwardly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo created for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to design a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
