STRATEGIES ON SELECTING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but in the end a design firm can only be judged by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio does not feature real life samples chances are they won’t be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to mirror your unique vision for your company. If a designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they can get paid.

Arvada LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs grow unforgettable brands. We have done brand identity design work for ranchers, educational institutions, diamond miners, party planners, coffee roasters, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business you can envision. What makes ImageCo different compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as if it will be used as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first approach our identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to billboards. Our sign first method insures that our logos are just as successful whether they are used in television commercials or website apps, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and remembered regardless of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might possibly have stumbled upon in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are retained to do, we perform ourselves. No matter the type of project we accept, logo, website, trade show booth, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s work to organizations based outside the USA. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the cost of your project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Arvada entrepreneur knows they probably need a logo, but few start ups thoroughly understand the crucial role their logo design will make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo functions far better than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Arvada businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need deliberation, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of noting something so that it can be identified, its origin comes from the mark branded onto livestock. These days a brand indicates basically anything with a motive, whether it be earnings or government agencies, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the worth of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy sister, they are all from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest aimed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to develop an image that the audience will likely connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody says the brand names Ferrari or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals identify with most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the history of a lot of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are often re-branded advertising agencies. When someone says they are in advertising most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps shape the public image of a firm, a product or a business. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some identity designers also design sites and also user interfaces. The crucial function of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of affecting actions, outcomes and understandings.

Featured logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Arvada coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an older part of the area and really wanted to cast a vintage vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via developing a logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Arvada medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable facility in Arvada.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Arvada travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Arvada logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Arvada logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how vital a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of obstacles, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Arvada publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many instances one of the things folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Arvada logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Arvada, design include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it seems that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a Arvada hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that communicated an atmosphere of serenity and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian equine logo style produced for a steed ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct logotype concept fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a different head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately identifiable horse lineages in the world.

Las Cafe, A Arvada restaurant logo design a tiny restaurant, style consists of a customized manuscript font style which floats over a group of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a little dining establishment, style includes a changed manuscript font style which floats over a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software application designer the design attributes and renowned Arvada element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Progress logo design created for a Arvadainterior designer, design function a series of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Arvada interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who plans, explores, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, space planning, site assessments, programming, research study, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Arvada, the characters for letter V and also A in center of the word advanced have actually been customized to link directly right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Arvada logo design project was completed for a leadership guide that enables business professionals to become more successful at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Arvada business logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Arvada logo design along with an image which captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Arvada company logo layout has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Arvada regional farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to design a graphic that projected trust, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Arvada Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally facing arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned Arvada sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
