Brighton Logo Design

Nearly every new Brighton venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely comprehend the pivotal role their business logo will perform in their success, or precisely why one logo design works better than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Brighton companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Brighton coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an older part of the city and wished to project a vintage tone without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by means of designing a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Brighton clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable center in Brighton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Brighton traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Brighton logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Brighton logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get objective opinions on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how important a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Brighton book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most critical part of a published book because it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Brighton logo layout made use of for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Brighton, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which projected an atmosphere of peace and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software application designer the layout attributes and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Brighton business logo dsign with an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t actually produced for an Brighton area farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to make a brand mark that projects trust, financial success, and wealth.
Logo design made for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
