Colorado Springs, Colorado Logo Design

Each and every new Colorado Springs business knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly realize the pivotal role their organization logo will play in their becoming successful, or why one logo design works far better than another. A logo design has an instant and lasting impact on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Colorado Springs, Colorado companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Colorado Springs, Colorado coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older part of the area and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by means of developing a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria developed for Colorado Springs, Colorado clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Colorado Springs, Colorado travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Colorado Springs logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Colorado Springs logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo realize how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s portion of obstacles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Colorado Springs, Colorado book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most essential part of a printed book since it is usually the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many occurrences one of the things people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to confering a sense of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Colorado Springs logo style used for marketing and also a label design for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Colorado Springs, Colorado, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it seems that virtually every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design which communicated an atmosphere of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo design for a software application developer the design attributes and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Colorado Springs logo dsign utilizing an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually produced for an Colorado Springs, Colorado area farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to produce a graphic that projects assurance, success, and opulence.

Colorado Springs Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally facing arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo designed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
