Erie, Colorado Logo Design

Every new Erie organization understands that they require a logo, yet few new business owners fully understand the essential role their logo design will perform in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo works far better than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting influence on the financial success of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Erie, Colorado companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to movie screens a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Erie, Colorado coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an old part of the city and really wanted to cast a nostalgic feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by means of creating a symbol concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Erie, Colorado clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog developed for a family members fun facility in Erie, Colorado.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Erie, Colorado travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Erie logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Erie logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how essential a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Erie, Colorado publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most vital part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was surely a victory.

Erie logo layout utilized for advertising as well as a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Erie, Colorado, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it seems that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which conveyed a spirit of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo design for a software developer the style functions as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Erie logo design dsign with an image that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t really developed for an Erie, Colorado regional farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this logo was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to develop a graphic that projected esteem, financial success, and opulence.

Erie Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
