POINTERS ON PICKING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not reimburse the time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t contain real world samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to mirror your personal vision for your organization. If a designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Golden LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds grow notable brand identities. We have done branding work for mechanics, schools, heart surgeons, wedding singers, diners, retailers, and practically every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every branding project as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first approach our brand identity designs can, and have been utilized in everything from clothing labels to electrical signs. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logos are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website apps, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered regardless of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you probably have encountered in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are contracted to do, we perform ourselves. No matter the kind of project we accept, business logo, business website, trade show exhibition, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will contract out our client’s work to 3rd parties located outside the USA. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that increases the cost of your project and dictates the terms of how you and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Every new Golden organization realizes that they need a logo, however few start-ups thoroughly realize the pivotal role their organization’s logo will make in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo performs better than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining influence on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Golden companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the act of noting something so that it can be recognized, its origin comes from the mark burned onto livestock. These days a brand symbolizes basically anything with a motive, regardless of whether it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the worth of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are each from the exact same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a specific audience, it’s goal is to produce a mental image that the audience can identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody says the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals acquire specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding firms you’ll find that they are quite often re-branded advertising and marketing companies. When someone says they are in marketing most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design which helps shape the public image of a firm, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some identity designers also design websites and also user interfaces. The crucial role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of affecting actions, results and assumptions.

select logos & signs

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Golden coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old part of town and wished to project a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by means of creating a business logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Golden medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping green frog made for a family members fun facility in Golden.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Golden travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Golden logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Golden logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Golden book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Golden logo layout utilized for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Golden, design include an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a Golden hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that carried a sense of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is generally the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian horse logo layout developed for a steed ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a one-of-a-kind company logo concept tailored to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. With a distinctive head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately recognizable horse lineages in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Golden restaurant logo style a tiny restaurant, style consists of a modified manuscript font style which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, style consists of a modified manuscript font which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software application developer the design functions and also legendary Golden component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

Develop logo design created for a Goldenindoor designer, style attribute a series of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Golden interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who prepares, investigates, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that includes conceptual development, space planning, location inspections, programming, investigation, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Golden, the characters for letter V and A in middle of words advanced have actually been modified to tie directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Golden logo design project was completed for a management advisor that aids business professionals to become more successful at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Golden business logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Golden business logo design with an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Golden company logo layout has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really composed for an Golden regional farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to design an identity that projects assurance, success, and luxury.

Golden Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo design made for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a famous Golden sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a logo design that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
