TIPS ON IDENTIFYING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio does not feature real world samples odds are they will never be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they can get paid.

Pueblo West LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping small business owners grow notable brand identities. We’ve undertaken brand identity design work for builders, schools, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee shops, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every branding project as if it will be utilized as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first method our identity designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first technique insures that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and remembered irrespective of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you may have come across on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are hired to perform, we do ourselves. No matter the type of design project we take on, business logo, web site, trade show exhibition, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s projects to 3rd parties located outside the USA. When you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Pueblo West entrepreneur realizes that they require a logo, but few start-ups entirely grasp the essential role their logo design will play in their success, or precisely why one logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Pueblo West businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of denoting something to make sure that it can be identified, its foundation comes from the brand branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand symbolizes basically anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive sister, they are all from the very same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest directed at a target audience, it’s objective is to create an image that the audience can relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When someone says the names Porsche or Mustang what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why people identify with most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the history of most branding agencies you’ll discover that they are frequently rebranded marketing and advertising firms. When someone says they are in marketing most individuals will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when a person claims “I’m in branding”… it simply sounds much more impressive, possibly it’s because most people do not recognize what it means to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and perhaps even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual aspects of a product or business that influence view points. This primarily consists of the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the different colors used however can additionally include audio, lighting, texture, signage, actually anything that can be seen, touched or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design that helps shape the image of a firm, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some identity designers also build sites and also user interfaces. The crucial role of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and a psychological tone with the objective of influencing actions, end results as well as understandings.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Pueblo West coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening up in an older part of the city and wished to cast a vintage feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of creating a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Pueblo West clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun center in Pueblo West.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Pueblo West travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Pueblo West logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Pueblo West logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design realize how vital a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s share of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Pueblo West publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many cases one of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Pueblo West logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Pueblo West, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a Pueblo West hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which communicated a sense of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is frequently the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo design produced for a horse ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind business logo concept customized to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. By having an unique head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Pueblo West Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout contains a changed script typeface which floats above a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, design contains a modified manuscript font which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout features and famous Pueblo West aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Advance logo layout produced for a Pueblo Westinterior designer, style function a collection of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Pueblo West interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who arranges, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that involves conceptual development, space planning, location inspections, programming, analysis, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Pueblo West, the personalities for letter V and also A in middle of the word advanced have been modified to link directly into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Pueblo West logo design project was completed for a leadership advisor that assists business professionals to become more successful at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Pueblo West business logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell off their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Pueblo West logo design design with a graphic that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Pueblo West company logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually designed for an Pueblo West area farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to generate a image that projects confidence, success, and opulence.

Pueblo West Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a popular Pueblo West sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
