Sherrelwood Logo Design

Every new Sherrelwood business realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the key role their company logo will play in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design works far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the growth of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Sherrelwood businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Sherrelwood coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old section of the community and wanted to visualize a retro vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by creating a logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs designed for Sherrelwood medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the clinical assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog developed for a family members fun center in Sherrelwood.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Sherrelwood travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sherrelwood logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Sherrelwood logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of obstacles, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Sherrelwood book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Sherrelwood logo layout made use of for advertising and also a label style for Vintage Case features an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Sherrelwood, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it seems that each and every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that related an atmosphere of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo design for a software designer the style functions as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Sherrelwood business logo dsign with an illustration that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Sherrelwood regional farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this particular logo design was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to make an identity that projected esteem, financial success, and affluence.
Logo design developed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
