Southglenn, Colorado Logo Design

Every new Southglenn business person understands that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the essential role their business logo will take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and lasting impact on the growth of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Southglenn, Colorado businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bike created for a Southglenn, Colorado coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an old section of the town and hoped to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via developing a symbol concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Southglenn, Colorado clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family fun center in Southglenn, Colorado.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Southglenn, Colorado travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Southglenn logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Southglenn logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo understand how important a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Southglenn, Colorado publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a published book since it is often the primary thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the things people tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Southglenn logo design used for advertising and a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Southglenn, Colorado, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that carried a spirit of calmness and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo layout for a software developer the design features as well as legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Southglenn logo dsign along with a graphic that pulls in the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Southglenn, Colorado regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to design an identity that projects self-assurance, financial success, and prosperity.

Southglenn Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo design created for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
