City of Milford (balance) Logo Design

Each and every new City of Milford (balance) venture knows they need a logo, but few new business owners entirely grasp the essential role their logo design will make in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term effect on the success of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help City of Milford (balance) companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike created for a City of Milford (balance) coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an older section of the city and wanted to project a nostalgic tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by developing a symbol design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs designed for City of Milford (balance) clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in City of Milford (balance).

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for City of Milford (balance) travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  City of Milford (balance) logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

City of Milford (balance) logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased judgements on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s share of obstacles, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for City of Milford (balance) publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many cases one of the items people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

City of Milford (balance) logo layout utilized for marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in City of Milford (balance), style include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it seems that each and every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which conveyed a spirit of tranquility and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo design for a software program developer the layout functions as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their City of Milford (balance) business logo dsign along with a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really developed for an City of Milford (balance) regional farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this business logo was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to design a image that projects trust, success, and wealth.
Logo design made for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is similar to a popular sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
