Manchester, Connecticut Logo Design

Virtually every new Manchester business knows they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the key role their business logo can take in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the financial success of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Manchester, Connecticut businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Manchester, Connecticut coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an older section of the area and wished to cast a vintage feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of creating a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs made for Manchester, Connecticut medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Manchester, Connecticut.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Manchester, Connecticut traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Manchester logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Manchester logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest judgements on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo understand how important a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s portion of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Manchester, Connecticut book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most important part of a published book considering that it is usually the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems that in many cases one of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was surely a success.

Manchester logo design used for advertising as well as a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Manchester, Connecticut, style include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really really love doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that carried a sense of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design features and iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Manchester business logo dsign along with a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

Manchester Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo made for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
