Mansfield City, Connecticut Logo Design

Nearly every new Mansfield City business realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully realize the essential role their company logo will play in their success, or precisely why one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term effect on the viability of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Mansfield City, Connecticut businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Mansfield City, Connecticut coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old section of the area and hoped to impart an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks through creating a sign design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is an ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Mansfield City, Connecticut clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Mansfield City, Connecticut.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Mansfield City, Connecticut travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mansfield City logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Mansfield City logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo understand how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s share of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Mansfield City, Connecticut publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a printed book given that it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was certainly a success.

Mansfield City logo layout used for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Case features an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Mansfield City, Connecticut, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that each and every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which related a sense of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo style for a software program designer the layout features and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Mansfield City logo design dsign utilizing a graphic that grabs the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Mansfield City Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design designed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
