Middletown, Connecticut Logo Design

Virtually every new Middletown venture realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully recognize the essential role their company logo can perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo design performs far better than another. A business logo has a critical and long term impact on the financial success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Middletown, Connecticut businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Middletown, Connecticut coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older part of the town and really wanted to visualize a retro vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs via designing a symbol design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs created for Middletown, Connecticut medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Middletown, Connecticut.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Middletown, Connecticut traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Middletown logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Middletown logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how important a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Middletown, Connecticut publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many cases 1 of the aspects individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Middletown logo style utilized for advertising and a label layout for Vintage Case features an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Middletown, Connecticut, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that communicated a sense of serenity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software program developer the layout functions as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Middletown logo design dsign using an image that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Middletown, Connecticut regional farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to produce a image that projected assurance, effectiveness, and opulence.

Middletown Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for externally dealing with arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to design a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
