Milford, Connecticut Logo Design

Every new Milford company knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners fully realize the vital role their logo can take in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design functions far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term effect on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Milford, Connecticut businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Milford, Connecticut coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an older section of the city and wanted to cast a retro tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by designing a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Milford, Connecticut clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable center in Milford, Connecticut.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Milford, Connecticut traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Milford logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Milford logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s share of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Milford, Connecticut publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most critical part of a published book because it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Milford logo design utilized for marketing and a label design for Vintage Case features an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Milford, Connecticut, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it appears that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually enjoy doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that related a feeling of ease and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the perception that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian equine logo design created for an equine ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind business logo concept customized to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. With a different head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most easily identifiable horse breeds in the whole world.

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, style includes a modified manuscript typeface which floats above a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small restaurant, layout consists of a changed manuscript typeface which hovers over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software developer the layout attributes and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Milford logo design dsign utilizing a graphic that seizes the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Milford, Connecticut regional farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to generate a graphic that projects trust, financial success, and luxury.

Milford Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for externally dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo made for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is similar to a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
