STRATEGIES ON IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not refund the time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not contain real life samples chances are they will never be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to echo your personal vision for your company. If a designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Seymour LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish memorable brand identities. We’ve undertaken brand identity design work for ranchers, universities, heart surgeons, party planners, bistros, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes ImageCo unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our identity designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website apps, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you may have stumbled upon in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are brought on board to perform, we do in-house. Regardless of the kind of project we undertake, business logo, web site, trade show banners, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job-out our customer’s projects to organizations located outside the US. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that increases the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Seymour organization understands that they require a logo, but few start ups fully recognize the key role their logo can play in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo performs far better than another. A logo has a critical and lasting effect on the financial success of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Seymour businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of denoting something to make sure that it could be distinguished, its foundation comes from the mark branded onto livestock. Nowadays a brand signifies basically anything with a motive, regardless if it be earnings or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive sister, they are each from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest aimed at a target market, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the audience will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and identity design. When someone states the names Ferrari or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals buy those products. Brand image is why people acquire most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the beginning of the majority of branding companies you’ll find that they are often re-branded advertising and marketing companies. When someone claims they are in marketing most individuals will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps shape the image of a firm, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some visual designers also build web sites as well as software interfaces. The vital role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues as well as a psychological tone with the objective of affecting actions, outcomes and understandings.

select logos & signs

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Seymour coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an older part of the community and hoped to cast an old-fashioned feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs via designing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria created for Seymour clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Seymour.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Seymour traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Seymour logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Seymour logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s share of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Seymour publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a published book since it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems that in many occurrences one of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Seymour logo style utilized for advertising and also a label layout for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Seymour, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it seems that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style produced for a Seymour hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that communicated a sense of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo layout created for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a distinct organization logo design fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. With an identifiable head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable horse lineages in the world.

Las Cafe, A Seymour Coffee shop logo layout a small dining establishment, design contains a modified script typeface which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, layout consists of a customized script typeface which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout functions and also iconic Seymour element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Develop logo layout created for a Seymourindoor designer, layout function a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Seymour interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who prepares, investigates, collaborates, and manages such ventures. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, location examinations, programming, analysis, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Seymour, the characters for letter V and A in center of words advanced have actually been customized to link directly right into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Seymour logo design job was done for a management advisor that helps business leaders to become more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Seymour business logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Seymour logo design design along with an illustration that seizes the interest of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Seymour company logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Seymour area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to generate a graphic that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Seymour Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout function for outwardly facing arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a renowned Seymour sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
