STRATEGIES FOR PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design agency offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot refund the time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real life samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your unique vision for your company. If a designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Wethersfield LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs establish memorable brand identities. We’ve done logo design work for builders, universities, heart surgeons, party planners, restaurants, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes ImageCo different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as though it will be used as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logo designs are just as effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website applications, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered regardless of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might possibly have stumbled upon in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are enlisted to perform, we perform ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of design project we take on, logo, web site, trade show booth, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s work to companies based outside the US. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that increases the price of your design project and dictates the terms of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Wethersfield company knows they require a logo, but few new business owners fully recognize the crucial role their organization’s logo can make in their success, or precisely why one business logo performs better than another. A logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the success of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Wethersfield companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to retail signs a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be ageless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of marking something to ensure that it could be distinguished, its origin originates from the mark branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand signifies basically anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the value of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are all from the exact same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to develop a mental image that the audience will relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and identity design. When a person says the names Porsche or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals get most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding agencies you’ll find that they are frequently re-branded advertising companies. When someone says they are in advertising the majority of people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design that helps shape the perception of a business, a product or a company. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and collateral material such as cards, stationery, and sales brochures. Some identity designers also build sites and also software interfaces. The crucial function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of affecting activities, results as well as understandings.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Wethersfield coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old section of the community and wished to project a nostalgic tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by means of developing a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs designed for Wethersfield clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Wethersfield.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Wethersfield traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Wethersfield logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Wethersfield logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how vital a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of obstacles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Wethersfield publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems that in many instances one of the aspects folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was surely a victory.

Wethersfield logo design utilized for marketing and also a label layout for Vintage Situation features an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Wethersfield, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style produced for a Wethersfield hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which communicated an atmosphere of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious path of making merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo layout created for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a unique logotype design tailored to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. With an unique head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly easily identifiable horse lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Wethersfield restaurant logo design a little dining establishment, design includes a changed script font style which hovers above a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a little dining establishment, style contains a modified manuscript typeface which floats over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software programmer the design functions and also renowned Wethersfield element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Advance logo style created for a Wethersfieldindoor designer, layout attribute a series of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Wethersfield interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who arranges, researches, coordinates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, research study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Wethersfield, the personalities for letter V and also A in middle of the word advanced have been customized to tie straight right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Wethersfield logo design assignment was completed for a management coach that assists business leaders to become more successful at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Wethersfield business logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Wethersfield logo design design along with a graphic which captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Wethersfield company logo style has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really composed for an Wethersfield area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to develop a graphic that projected self-confidence, financial success, and luxury.

Wethersfield Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design developed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a renowned Wethersfield sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
