Dover Logo Design

Every new Dover company understands that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the vital role their business logo will perform in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo works better than another. A logo design has an instant and lasting impact on the financial success of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Dover businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Dover coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an old part of the town and hoped to visualize a retro tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs via developing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Dover clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members fun center in Dover.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Dover traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Dover logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Dover logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Dover book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most important part of a printed book because it is usually the very first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many occurrences one of the things folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Dover logo layout used for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Dover, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it appears that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which carried an atmosphere of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is oftentimes the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Las Cafe logo style a small dining establishment, layout consists of a modified script font style which floats over a group of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software program developer the layout features and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Progress logo design developed for a Dover indoor designer, design attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Dover business logo dsign with a graphic which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t actually composed for an Dover regional farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to design a graphic that projected confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
